It takes us quite a while to slowing move into the channel not being able to see hardly anything. We finally anchor in Ingrams Bay. Not really a great spot but we hoped good enough to make it thru the night. We are exhausted of the long day and the stress of night-time navigating. But we made it safely! So on to our St Patti’s Day Celebration. Could not find Corned Beef and Cabbage in the stores, so had to settle for Pork Loin and Coleslaw and a badly needed libation. But the wind is picking up & we believe we our anchor is not holding & we are drifting. So someone needs to be on watch. Bill is so tired, so I say I will take the first 2 hours. I am so tired and having a hard time keeping my eyes open. But I can see we are slowing moving to a couple of houses docks, but at a very slow drift. So I am keeping watch. All of the sudden, right around midnight, the wind suddenly changes and we are moving quickly into 2 houses docks. I can actually see the folks come out of their houses. I call to Bill and start the engine. We pull up the anchors and move away from the docks. I can’t believe we did not hit them. But now the winds are up and we cannot stay there. So we decide we need to head across the channel towards Reedsville. We cannot see hardly anything. We are solely dependent on our GPS and Bills expertise and my eyes. We very slowly make it across the channel and after about 1 1/2 finally anchor again in Cockrell Creek. It is now about 1:30am. I go to sleep for a couple of hours while Bill stays on watch. We are exhausted and cold, but so grateful nothing disastrously happened.
