So winds gusts last night of 30 knots, but we warm and cozy in our bunks. Wake up this morning to me smelling something burning. So I startle Bill awake and we figured out it was from the restaurant. Baylor our waitress comes over a little while later and asks if we want mimosas andContinue reading “March 23, 2020”

Cellphone hotspot is working well. Last night, after our wonderful dinner, we watched Aladdin on Disney+ on our tablet with no slow downs. Fun movie for both adults & kids. Nice night sleeping with boat rocking all night. #theboatinglifewithdisney This morning for breakfast, we had mimosas, oysters, goat cheese and Belgium waffles from Crazy Crab-Continue reading “March 22, 2020”

Last night, winds gusting to 25 knots and raining hard most of the night, so Bill up a few times adjusting the lines. Small craft advisory til Tuesday. Then looking like North winds to allow us to head south. So enjoying another day on the bay. Cooler than yesterday, but still nice enough for longContinue reading “March 21, 2020”
March 20th
So Good Friday, and what a blessed gorgeous day it was today. 80+ degrees, wind at 15-20 knots South. So not a good sailing day but great day to hang out on the boat. The local store was open so I bought some Maryland crab pot holders and towels for the boat to support them.Continue reading “March 20th”
March 19th
We woke up to a beautiful warm day. Spent the day doing some boat chores, another long walk exploring the town and rowing around in our new dinghy. We took 1 of our wine bottles and put a note in it, interested in seeing where it ends up. Some boat humor for the day –Continue reading “March 19th”
March 18th – Evening
It has been a badly needed very calm day. We moved the boat over to Reedsville Marina/Crazy Crab and tied up. We decided we would stay here for the next couple of days until the winds were in our favor again and we fix a couple of things. It is very deserted and quiet hereContinue reading “March 18th – Evening”
March 18th – morning
The winds are still up this morning. Small craft advisory til noon, so we take turns catching on sleep. We are finally calming down after our nighttime adventure. It was very scary. I am so grateful for Bill’s skills of the waterways and his calmness and how well we handle crisises together. We called ReedsvilleContinue reading “March 18th – morning”
March 17th – 9pm
It takes us quite a while to slowing move into the channel not being able to see hardly anything. We finally anchor in Ingrams Bay. Not really a great spot but we hoped good enough to make it thru the night. We are exhausted of the long day and the stress of night-time navigating. ButContinue reading “March 17th – 9pm”
March 17th – after 6pm
So the sun has set and we are entering the Great Wicomico River channel. As we are moving towards the red buoy, I have the binoculars looking for any problems in front of us. I see some pilings sticking up. I say to Bill I think I see a fish net across the channel. HeContinue reading “March 17th – after 6pm”
March 17th – 6 pm
Things start to go south from here. We realized that we were not going to make Reedsville before Sunset. So we would be coming into the Great Wicomico River in the dark. This is not an ideal situation and not for the faint of heart. But there is no place to stop before then. SoContinue reading “March 17th – 6 pm”
